The Calgary Vipers were shutout 1-0 by the Winnipeg Goldeyes at CanWest Global Park. The loss gave the Goldeyes the series with back-to-back victories and it was the first road series defeat for Calgary all season. It was also the first series loss for the team since June 8th-10th against these same Goldeyes as well.
The only run of the game came in the bottom of the sixth with Fehlandt Lentini singling with one out. That chased Calgary starter Ryan Klatt from the game and in came Ryan Olson. After a groundout to move Lentini to second base, Chris Latham came up with a two out single to score him and give Winnipeg the 1-0 lead. Making his first start of the season Klatt got the tough luck loss going five and a third innings and giving up only two hits while striking out four.
Brandon Kintzler got the win going seven innings and giving up only two hits while walking no body and striking out four.
Drew Miller snapped his 40 game on base streak with a zero-for-four game.
