VIPERS LET SIX RUN LEAD SLIP AWAY

The Calgary Vipers fell behind early and could not complete a comeback, losing 5-3 to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, North Dakota. All eight runs of the game were scored via the long ball and the loss is the Vipers fifth in a row.

In the bottom of the second after a Ruben Salazar walk, Billy Munoz smacked a two run shot for the 2-0 lead.

An inning later in the fifth with Tydus Meadows and Richard Austin on with singles, Salazar nailed a three run homer for the 5-0 score.

Calgary responded in the sixth after singles from Manabu Kuramochi and Darryl Brinkley singles, Drew Miller smoked his seventh homerun of the year to cut the lead down to 5-3.

The Vipers loaded the bases in the ninth but were unable to scratch across any runs against closer Nate Cotton.

The Snakes now return home Tuesday August 7th at 7:05 PM (MDT) for a three game home stand against the Schaumburg Flyers.  The two teams will also play on Wednesday August 8th and Thursday August 9th at 7:05 PM (MDT).  Tickets can be ordered by calling 277-BALL (2255).
