In a wild finish the Calgary Vipers lost 9-8 to the Winnipeg Goldeyes at CanWest Global Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Calgary scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 6-4 lead. Right back came the Goldeyes with four in the bottom of the inning though to retake the lead. This continued as the Vipers scored two in the next half inning to tie the game which was eventually won by the Fish with a run in the bottom of the ninth
Winnipeg took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning with a sacrifice fly by Aaron McEachran and a solo homerun by Luis Alen.
A run was added in each of the fourth and fifth by the Fish on Walter Young and Fehlandt Lentini solo homeruns.
The scoring started in the top of the sixth on a Darryl Brinkley walk and a Carlos Duncan hit by pitch for runs batted in. Jason Colson singled home two more and Kyle Nichols doubled home the last two.
Demond Smith picked up a fielder's choice RBI and Brent Metheny singled to center to tie the game. Young and Antoin Gray would plate the last two runs of the bottom of the seventh with singles for the 8-6 game.
Colson was back at it in the eighth though with two more RBI's to tie the game at eight.
Smith in the bottom of the ninth singled home Lentini after his triple for the ballgame.
This series continues Saturday August 25th at 6:00 PM (MDT), Sunday August 26th at 12:30 PM (MDT) and the series wraps up Monday August 27th and Tuesday August 28th at 6:00 PM (MDT). Fans can watch Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday's games on Calgary's SHAW-TV Channel 10.

The Vipers return home Wednesday August 29th, Thursday August 30th, and Friday August 31st all at 7:05 PM (MDT) against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The five game series will continue on Saturday September 1st at 5:05 PM (MDT) and Sunday September 2nd at 1:35 PM (MDT) to close out the 2007 regular season. The Vipers are already selling playoff tickets. The Northern League North Division Final opens in Calgary on Tuesday, September 4 and Wednesday, September 5.
